Design for All Italia: a new section in our portfolio
A section of our portfolio brings together the projects we have developed with the association Design for All Italia: the user interface of BTicino’s Linea 5000, retail technologies analysed with people, and a pointer to the association’s case studies.

Our portfolio has a new section devoted to projects developed with the association Design for All Italia (opens in a new tab). The page brings together real-world experience from a structured, impact-led process: that of Design for All and Inclusive Design, two distinct, process-led approaches.
In recent years our studio has taken part in design initiatives that treat accessibility as a strategic lever for innovation. The case studies in this section are concrete examples of how Design for All can translate into functional, intelligent and transferable solutions.
They include technology systems and retail spaces in which the user experience was rethought on the basis of real needs, evidence of use and field observation. Our contribution ranged from user research to usability testing, from Co-Design workshops to the validation of accessible solutions.
BTicino Linea 5000
For BTicino’s Linea 5000 video door entry panel, our contribution was the user interface: UX and UI analysis and design, covering the sequence of actions required, the legibility of the controls and the clarity of the feedback given to the person using them. The product won an iF Design Award 2025 (opens in a new tab).
BTicino Linea 5000: the Smart 2-wire push-button panel
The co-creation process is documented in the Design for All Italia case study (opens in a new tab). The second video presents the door entry panel in its version with Netatmo.

Technology in retail
One of the key objectives was to make interaction with new technologies understandable and comfortable, so that innovation does not become a barrier. Self-checkout systems, smart devices, multisensory interfaces and cashless environments were analysed in depth, with the direct involvement of users of different ages, abilities and levels of digital familiarity.
The portfolio page
The new Design for All Italia projects page contains an overview of the design contexts, a summary of the work carried out and the benefits of each project. It documents a process: Design for All and Inclusive Design as approaches grounded in evidence gathered with people, from the starting context through the work done to the tested solutions.
For a fuller picture of the value and range of the Design for All approach, we also recommend the case studies published by Design for All Italia (opens in a new tab): a collection of experiences, contexts and solutions showing how real impact can be achieved in very different sectors, from retail to cultural venues, from technology to services.
Other cases from our studio are collected in our case studies; the page on Design for All and Inclusive Design consultancy describes how we work.

Projects tested with people
Products, interfaces and retail spaces: we work with companies on a process that starts from real needs and tests the solutions with the people who’ll use them.
